Phytoplankton is a Vital source of food for brine shrimp, copepods, rotifers, sponges, tube worms and other filter feeding inverts. Produces fatty acids corals consume for healthier tissue and coloration as well as feeding copepods to increase their nutrition and increase populations to help keep tanks cleaner. Phyto feeds on nitrates, phosphates and CO2, decreasing nutrient load and reoxygenating the tank helping to stabilize pH. Outcompete other types of algae for food helping to reduce micro algae in the tank.
