A classic collectors piece, this fast growing zoanthid species can tolerate different ranges of lighting and flow, it will look its best in moderate lighting (PAR 20-50) and moderate flow. This particular species is slower growing than some other similar species.
This species is aquacultured but originated in the indopacific around islands like Fiji, Tonga, Solomon Islands, and the Great Barrier Reef. When handling these Zoanthid/Palythoa coral make sure to check for open cuts that may be exposed to this coral or wear gloves and eyewear to avoid palytoxins (a neurotoxin that can cause irritant to the skin and in rare situations have deadly consequences.
